Rosa M. Stagg-Boone, 80 of 1205 FDR Court, Suffolk, VA transitioned Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Stagg and Florine Wright-Stagg. She was preceded in death by her daughter, LueBrenda Stagg; two granddaughters, Taylor W. Skeeter and Shari Stagg; two brothers, Eley Stagg, Sr. and Everett Stagg; two sisters, Ellen Stagg-Neal and O’Neal Stagg-Blount.
She attended Suffolk Public Schools. After 25 years of being employed with George and Elnora Thornton (Thornton Furniture Company), she retired from Norfolk Naval Supply Center, Bldg. 143, Norfolk, VA after 15 years of services. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Mahan Street, Suffolk.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Ralph Stagg, Luther B. Stagg, Sr. and Michael Stagg (Chiquita); two daughters, Pamela Boone-Skeeter and Pauline Ralph (Steven); a brother, L.T. Stagg (Elnora); two sisters, Doretha Beamon and Lestine Stagg; two brothers-in-law, Owen Neal and Walter L. Blount, Sr; two sister-in-laws, Pearl and Stella Stagg, two aunts, Bertha Mae Powell and Ruth Harriston; and one uncle, James Stagg; eleven grandchildren, Ticia Owens-Cooper (Alonzo), Tonjukia Stagg, Kenata Bowers, Rev. T. Deon Gatling (Tameka), Satasha Taylor, Phillip A. Skeeter II, Luther B. Stagg, Jr., Delron H. Crowder (Skylar), Christopher S. Ralph, Elvin Harris, Tionna and Shakirea Foster; six great grandchildren, Tavon B. Owens, Teyona M. Owens, Ja’el Stagg, Kayla Stagg, Tyrik Stagg and Mikayla Stagg and a special cousin/caregiver Fannie Mae Mabry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan Street, Suffolk, VA officiated by Rev. Dr. Steven G. Blunt. Entombment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family is requesting in lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Rosa M Stagg-Boone.
