Ella Sue Hill

Mrs. Ella Sue Hill, the widow of the late Finis Adolph Hill, Sr. was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on January 25, 2016. She quietly slipped away at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk. Ella was born July 10, 1941 to Malvin and Malachi Robertson who both were also called home. Ella is one of the seven siblings; James Augustus Robertson (deceased), Cleveland Robertson, Ruby Robertson (deceased), Thomas Robertson, Roy Robertson and Christine Edmonds. Ella was a former member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and an active member of Palm Tree Baptist Church for over 30 years, serving on the Sunday School Board, Senior and Mixed Choral Choirs. She was a bus driver for the Suffolk City School system for 30 plus years worked simultaneously at Wal-Mart until she retired from both jobs. She leaves to cherish her memories six children, Finis Adolph Hill, Jr. (Wisconsin), David Lee Hill (Danielle) of Hampton, VA, Doris Jean McNair (Leo) of Suffolk, VA, Randy Hill (Piyumi), Hubert Hill (Cheryl) of Florida and Lorrie Ann Hill of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren, Tiffany, Terrell, Major, Drew, Finis III, Chelsea, Bianca, Julius, Isaiah, Jacob, Mia, Joshua, Ella Janae, McKenzie, David Jr, Gabrielle, Randy Jr. and Abraham. Ella was also doubly blessed with one Great-Grandchild, Gregory, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  The family will receive guest from 5-8 p.m. at 4016 Arthur Drive, Suffolk, Virginia. Public viewing will be held 1-7 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2016.A celebration of life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Palm Tree Baptist Church with Pastor Anthony Sommerville presiding. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery alongside her beloved Finis. A repass will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Suffolk Hilton Garden Inn, 100 E. Constance Road, Suffolk, VA 23434.
