Anntionita “Nita” Phillips-Hyman, 62, was born February 15, 1953, to the late Vera M. and William H. Phillips. She was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Lee Wynn.
She was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School c/o 71. She also attended Norfolk State University and Silver Springs Business in Maryland. “Nita” was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church where she served in the Mass Choir, YAMS, Youth Ministry and Praise Dance. She was employed with Suffolk Public Schools and Metropolitan Daycare Center. On Sunday, December 27, 2015 while in Beacon Shore Rehab Center “Nita” transitioned to her Heavenly Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, William Hyman of Virginia Beach; son, Reshawn L. Phillips of Suffolk; four sisters, Valerie Phillips of Mt. Rainer, M.D, Una Phillips of Suffolk, Sharyl Baskfield (Carrol) and Joyce Phillips both of Richmond, VA; grandchild, Javeon Ensley; Mother-in-law, Thelma Hyman Woodson; a host of brother in laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2015 at Metropolitan Baptist Church. 125 County Street Suffolk. She will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be receiving guest at 1061 Norwich Ave, Virginia Beach.
