Dolores Boone Rawles

Hortense Dolores Boone Rawles, 83, of Richmond formerly of Suffolk entered into eternal peace on Monday, December 21, 2015, at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. Dolores was born October 21, 1932, in Carrsville, Virginia to Rochelle Boone and Hortense Boykin Boone. She is survived by three daughters Patricia R. White of Rock Hill, SC, Pamela R. Brown (Kempis) of Chesterfield, VA, and Melissa Harper of Portsmouth, VA and one son Edgar T. Rawles, Jr. (Melody), of Chesterfield, VA. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Currin (Colbert) of Durham, NC and Sandra Bailey (Bernard) of Suffolk, sister-in-law, Dorothy Rawles of Suffolk; one brother, Marvin Boone of Suffolk.  Dolores was a retired educator of 32 years in the Suffolk Public Schools and the owner of DB’s tax service. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 26, 2015 at East End Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in Boykin family cemetery on Holland Road.
