Regina H. Faison

October 6, 1960 — December 15, 2015

  II Corinthians 4:16-17 (KJV) (16) For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (17)For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;               Regina Phynese Hill-Faison was born in Goldsboro, N.C. October 6, 1960. She was the daughter of the late Nathaniel & Granger L. Hill. On December 15, 2015, God sent an angel for His precious child so that she may spend eternal life with Him.             Regina graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1978 and continued her education at St. Augustine College, Raleigh, N.C. where she graduated in 1982. She pursued further graduate studies at East Carolina University, North Carolina State University, Bowman Gray Medical School, and the University of South Florida. Prior to her illness, she was employed at the University of South Florida as a Staff Development Trainer.             Regina made her Christian commitment to Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to Florida, she joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sarasota. Though confined to her wheelchair, when she relocated to Suffolk, she joined and rode faithfully to her new church home, Canaan Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the Women’s Ministry as well as the Tutoring Ministry. She often missed and rescheduled doctor’s appointments in order to be active in these ministries and do the work of the Lord.             She leaves to always love and cherish her memory; two sisters, Juanita Celestine Griffin, Goldsboro, N.C. and Marketa H. Abbott (Hardy, Sr.), Suffolk, Va.; Aunt, Mozzetta Leggett, Durham N.C., Niece Reneta D. Abbott, Coral Springs, Fla; Nephews, Quincy E. Griffin (Renee), McDonough, Ga., Marshall E. Griffin (Shelida), Knightdale, N.C., and Hardy L. Abbott, Jr., Atlanta, Ga., as well as two great nieces and two great nephews. In addition she leaves special friend & CNA Suritta Pierce, Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Vann, Soror Violene Sharpe, Erika L. Cowling, Theresa Jones, Atlanta, Ga., Mary C. Mann, Palmetto, Fla., Von Dowling, Bradenton, Fla., Kathy Caldwell, Northern Va., and a host of cousins, church family, and friends.A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Canaan Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
