Angels of the Lord carried our father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to be with the Lord on November 9, 2015. He was the son of the late Thomas and Audrey Ashe.Nathaniel H. Ashe moved to Yonkers, NY in 1968. That same year, he became a member of the Elks Terrace City Lodge in Yonkers, NY. He was also a member of the Board of Trustees for the Terrace City Lodge for many years. In 2000, he became a lifetime member of Terrace City Lodge because of service rendered to the Lodge. He has held the Honor of Past State President. He was a faithful member until his move to Suffolk, VA.For twenty-four and a half years, Nathaniel worked at General Motors and was a lifetime member of the United Auto Workers Union and the Eastern Division West Rock Marching Unit in Yonkers, New York.Nathaniel was married to the late Shirley Langston; and a life long companion to Ann Bell of New York. Nathaniel was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Thaddeus Ashe; sister, Vandell Arnold.Nathaniel will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers Allison and Marvin (Joyce) Ashe, loving sisters, Evangeline Byrum, Dorothy Brown and Mildred Ashe, beloved children, Jacqueline Stancil, Theresa Brooks, Nathaniel Jr., Andrew and Christopher, and a host of grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Nathaniel will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate and blessed to be touched by his life.A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 in the Melvin Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home, Inc. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
