James "Brown" E. Nickson

James "Brown" E. Nickson, 72, of 208 North Broad Street, Suffolk, VA died Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Sentara Obici Hospital. he was a native of Suffolk and the son of the late Roland Coates, Sr. and India Mae Gates.He was retired and worked previously at Pruden Packing Company and an Orderly for New York City Prison System.He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Darlene Coates, Connie Holliman, Debbie Gates and Joyce Green (Bubba); five brothers, Charles Gates (Thelma), George (Velma), Reginald (Mary), Tony (Johnetta), Andra Wilson, James Brinkley and William Madison; and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Melvin Blowe Chapel of Crocker Funeral Home officiated by Rev.
