Anthony Brisseau

d. December 26, 2013

"I go to life and not to death, from darkness to life?s native sky: I go from pain, to health and immortality. Let our farewell, then, be tearless, since I bid farewell to tears; Write this day of my departure, Festive in your coming years."Horatius BonarOn Thursday, December 26, 2013, Anthony Serge Brisseau departed this life at Riverside Regional Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. He was born in Port ?Au- Prince, Haiti on May 26, 1961 to the late Providence Brisseau & Elvire Abellard Brisseau. He was a graduate of George Westinghouse High School located in Brooklyn, New York and received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with a Minor in Languages from State University of New York in New Paltz, New York . He met and married Shirron Edwards Brisseau on November 16, 2004. He was employed as a contract agent with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for more than 20 years.Anthony was an active member of Abundant Harvest International Church located in Forestville, MD under the care of Apostle Jean P. Auguste. He was also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated. Well-known by his family and friends, Anthony was an avid fisherman and a sport fanatic indeed?shame on you if you called him during his football game or interrupted his basketball ?date? with Kobe Bryant. But most of all, Anthony was a wonderful loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend to many.Serge or Sergo as he was called by many in his family had several nicknames: he was known as "Snake" by his college friends and fraternity brothers, "Croaker" due to his love of fishing by his co-workers, "Bossman" by his late father-in-law and playfully giving the name of "Knuckle-head" by none other than his mother-in-law.Shirron asked God for a humble man, and she was blessed with Anthony Brisseau. He was a man of provision, service before self, and had a passion to assist EVERYONE?no matter what. He was always going the extra mile to give you his pants off his legs, shoes off his feet, the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his pocket, and not expecting any gratitude in-return. And even though he never had any biological children, Anthony loved ALL children as if they were his own. Any child that he encountered was immediately drawn to him and vice-versa.He leaves to cherish and perpetuate his memory: his loving wife, Shirron E. Brisseau; two sisters, Margaret Brisseau and Maria Carline Brisseau (Theodore Romney); two brothers, Chrisler Brisseau (Marie) and Wesley Brisseau (Bernadette); two honorary families, Sinrod & Davis; two sisters-in law, Shirnell Baker (Dennis) and Shirnita Davis; one brother-in-law, Rudolph E. Edwards, Jr. (Regine); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
