Lillie Gertrude Copeland Ford, 88, of Landing Court in Suffolk, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at her residence.She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Abe Copeland and Cherry Victoria Rawles Copeland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Ford.She attended East Suffolk High School. She was a member of Zion Christian Church, where she was the church mother.She leaves to cherish her memory two brothers, Abe Copeland (Mattie) and Joe Copeland Sr. (Lena); two sisters-in-law, Catherine Copeland and Edyth Copeland; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Zion Christian Church, 5200 Quaker Drive, officiated by the Rev. Ben Fitzgerald III, pastor, and the Rev. James Richardson, assistant pastor.
