Nellie Y. Mae GrayNellie Y. Mae Gray, 86 of 1205 Coastline Avenue, Suffolk, VA died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Joshua Young and Annie Bell Young. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie James Gray, Sr.She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the senior choir, usher, and the East Bound Association. Mrs. Gray was a member of the Hollywood-Jerisho Civic League.She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Charlotte A. Gray of Suffolk; two sons, Willie James Gray, Jr. (Evelyn) of Suffolk and Michael A. Gray (Helena) of Portsmouth, VA; three grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Sixth Street Baptist Church officiated by Rev. John Moore. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will assemble at Crocker Funeral Home Saturday at 11:15 a.m. for the processional to the church.
