Johnnie ParrishJohnnie Parrish, 42, of 117 Lee St., Suffolk, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at the Hampton Veterans Administration Nursing Home in Hampton. He was a native of Suffolk and the son of Marion Parrish.He graduated from John Yeates High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Johnnie attended Kee Business College and Fortis College.He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, LaQuesha Hawkins and Joynisha Burton, both of Suffolk; one son, Jai Sawyer, of Suffolk; two sisters, Johari Parrish and Lisa Mitchell-Eason, both of Suffolk; three brothers, Troy Parrish, of Suffolk, Jerohn Mizell and Damon Mizell, both of San Antonio, Texas; one grandchild; grandmother, Annie Mae Kindred; two aunts, Ineas Mayfield and Virginia Harris; two uncles, Linwood Parrish and Roy Lee Parrish; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at Liberty Baptist Church, 116 Romans Road, Suffolk, officiated by the Rev. Melvin Hooker. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence and 104 Kilby Court, Suffolk.
