Josephine SkeeterJosephine Skeeter, 77 of 1720 Carolina Road, Suffolk, VA died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Blackwell Skeeter and Josie L. Boone Skeeter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Skeeter, Jr.She retired as a domestic specialist for several years. She was a member of Mt. Ararat Christian Church. Ms. Skeeter was also a member of Mt. Ararat Missionary Lodge No. 1.She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Joanne S. Myrick (Melvin) of Newsoms, VA and Rosemary Skeeter of Portsmouth, VA; sons, Anthony L. Skeeter of Indianapolis, IN, Larry Skeeter and Claude E. Skeeter both of Suffolk; sisters, Elnora Tranumn of Bronx, NY, Irene Lundy of Suffolk and Janet O. Riddick of Brooklyn, NY; brother, Frank Skeeter of Suffolk; four grandchildren, Cicily N. SKeeter of Portsmouth, VA, Tamika C. Demiel, Kayln N. Skeeter and London M. Skeeter both of Suffolk; great grandchildren, RaeQuon D. Davis and Tynaeja R. Davis both of Portsmouth, VA; godson, Nicholas Hart (Kaylee) of Mableton, GA; sisters-in-law, Myrtie M. Skeeter and Florine Skeeter both of Suffolk; special friend, Peggy Baker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Mt. Ararat Christian Church officiated by Pastor H. H. Murrill. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
