Diane Lavern GilesDiane Lavern Giles, 53 of Suffolk, VA died Wednesday, May  21, 2014 at Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake, VA. She was a native of Portsmouth, VA and the daughter of Robert Cost, Sr. and the late Cherry Grant. She was preceded in death by her sister, Melody Ward; one grandchild, Takia Simmons.She attended Cradock High School. She was employed at Suffolk Public Schools as a teacher assistant until her health failed. She was a member of Higher Dimensions Family Outreach Center where she was an Armor Bearer for the Pastor and the church clerk. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Curtis Giles; one daughter, Marquisha Barner; one son, Vincent Chase Hall; six sisters, Joanne Hall, Belinda Avery, Roberta Hall, Andrea Hall, Veronica Grant and Kimberly Grant; two brothers, Carl Hall and Keith Grant; five grandchildren, Marquise, Jakia, Mya, Jamari Simmons and Julius Hall; and one great grandchild, Kasen Simmons; mother-in-law, Gracie Giles; one sister-in-law, Shelia White; five brothers-in-law, Reginald White, Terry White, Robert Giles, John Lassiter and Anthony White; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at New Pauls Temple Church officiated by Bishop Mavis Goodman.
