Mary Jane RiddickMary Jane Riddick, 94 passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Kindred Healthcare (Nansemond Pointe Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center). She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Doss Wiggins and Jennie E. Wiggins.She attended Nansemond County Training School, VirginiaCommonwealth University, P. D. Pruden Vocational Center and Essex County Vocations School for cosmetology in New Jersey. She was a nurse’s aide and a beautician and previously worked at Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA and East Pavilion in Franklin, VA. Mary was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she was in the women’s choir and women fellowship. She was affiliated with the senior companion program for Senior Services in Southeastern Virginia.She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Edith E. Pierce; sister-in-law, Lillie Mae Lee; nephews, Thurman Pierce, Ray A. Pierce, Willie V. Wiggins and Leonard “Jackie” Wiggins; nieces, Glenda S. Jones, Jennifer R. Pierce and Edith Collette Turner; great nieces and great great nieces; great nephews and great great nephews; special friends, Elijah Rogers, Barbara Aultman and Eloise Wiggins; and a host of relatives and friends A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church officiated by Rev. William L. Lang. Interment will be in Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
