Lucinda Cook SaundersLucinda Saunders, 93, of 37395 General Mahone Blvd., died Monday, July 14, 2014 at her residence. She was a native of Goochland County and the daughter of the late Nathaniel Cook and Lucy Jane Cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Lee Saunders, Sr.; three sisters; and three brothers.Ms. Saunders attended Goochland County Public Schools and Apex Beauty College. She was a homemaker and a member of Chapel Grove United Church of Christ where she was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher, a member of the Women’s Fellowship, Sunday School Union, and the Golden Age Ministry. She also was a volunteer at Southeastern Virginia Services.She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Muriel B. Boone of Smithfield, VA, Linda L. Blount of Carrollton, VA, and Dorothy Ruffin (Russell) of Carrsville, VA; three sons, Donnie L. Saunders (RoNita) of Dayton, OH, Moses L. Saunders (Margaret) of Ivor, VA, Leon R. Saunders (Faye) of Denver, CO; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; a niece, Rosa L. Cook; and a nephew, Melvin E. Evans.A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Chapel Grove United Church of Christ at 11:00 AM.
