He was a native of Suffolk, Virginia and the son of the late Thomas E. Thorpe, Sr. and Edith Mae Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his adopted parents, Roosevelt and Ida Armstrong.He attended John F. Kennedy High School.Thomas leaves to cherish his memory two brothers, Arthur M. Thorpe (Janet) of Gates, North Carolina and Kenneth Armstrong, Sr. (Dorothy) of Suffolk, Virginia; nieces, Ebony Thorpe, Essence Thorpe, Tanisha Galberth, Pettina Armstrong Gay,; nephews, Dexter Galberth, Kenneth Armstrong, Jr., and Doron Armstrong; uncle, Charlie E.
