Joseph H. CopelandJoseph Henry Copeland, 79 passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the residence of his daughter. He was a native of Suffolk, VA and the son of the late Dennis Copeland and Irene Copeland.He attended Suffolk Public Schools. He retired from Driver Construction after thirty-five years of service. Mr. Copeland was a member of Tabernacle Outreach Center where he was a trustee until his health failed and a member of Silver Strings and Brotherhood. He also was a member of the Deer Path Hunting Club and M & M Hunting Club.He leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Jackie Newsome (Morris) of Suffolk, VA, Carol of Georgia and stepdaughter, Betty of Texas; sons, Ronald Randell (Angie) of Portsmouth, VA, Donald Little of Portsmouth, Joseph of Suffolk, Billy of Portsmouth, step sons, Gary (Cynthia) of Georgia, and Nathaniel of Suffolk; brother, Arthur Copeland; special friends, Martha Collins, Charlie Little, Richard & Herbert Hollie, Henry “Buttermilk” Ridley; special cousins, Martha Gordon and Sonnie Scott; godson, Anthony “Shorty” Jones; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 1200 Noon  Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center, 3621 Nansemond Parkway Suffolk, VA.  Interment will be Tabernacle Church Cemetery, 113 Mann Road, Suffolk, VA.   Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
