Myrtie Mae SkeeterMyrtie Mae Skeeter, 86 died Sunday, January 3, 2015 at her residence. We gather to reflect, celebrate and give thanks for the life of Myrtie Mae Skeeter. On the evening of Saturday, January 3, 2015, God decided to call one of his children home. She was born February 12, 1928 in Suffolk, VA to the late Claude Sr., and Alma Gill Skeeter.She attended the Suffolk Public Schools. She retired from the Service Industry.At an early age, she joined Mt. Ararat Christian Church where she was a former member of the Women’s Fellowship Ministry and the Senior Choir. She was a member of the Mt. Ararat Missionary Lodge No. 1.Myrtie was preceded in death by two children, Calvin Skeeter and Sylvonnia Lee, four brothers, Russell, Clifton, Claude Jr., and Nathan Skeeter, one grandson, Travis Skeeter.She leaves to cherish her memores three daughters, Leandrey Mason (Jethro), Alma Barber (Ronnie) and Quay Sawyer, eight sons, Durmand, Frederick Jr., Howard (Marilyn), Jerome Sr., (Barbara), Nathaniel (Linda), Theodore, Phillip Skeeter and Michael Everett, son-in-law, Clarence Lee, a special granddaughter, Raushanah Skeeter, two step-sisters, Mary Alston and Ruby Blizzard, 27 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 6 great, great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Florine Skeeter, one godson, Clifton Latham and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Mt. Ararat Christian Church 1860 Airport Rd. Suffolk VA. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
