Raiford V. “Ray” GoodmanRaiford V. “Ray” Goodman, 60 of 4300 Butler Drive, Suffolk, VA died Sunday, January 4, 2014 at Autumn Care of Suffolk. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Charlie Alfonzie Goodman and Eunice Wilson Goodman. He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Philip Lowther; two sisters-in-law, Mary E. Goodman and Melvin C. Goodman.He was a member of Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ.He leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Hazel Zaneva Lowther of Suffolk; two brothers, Jimmie L. Goodman and Hurley Goodman both of Suffolk; one niece, Bertina E. Goodman of Suffolk; two nephews, Earl Goodman of Suffolk and Talmadge Goodman of Hampton, VA; god sister, Bernadette Hargrove of Suffolk.A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ officiated by Rev. J. J.. Ferguson. Interment will be in Corinth Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Hazel Lowther, 4300 Butler Drive, Suffolk.
