Florence Elizabeth LawrenceFlorence Elizabeth Lawrence, 90 of 309 Ben Street, Suffolk, VA died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Nansemond Point Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was a native of Suffolk and the daughter of the late Henry Anderson and Octavia Anderson.She formerly was employed as a basket maker at the Butterdish and retired as a sales clerk at Leggett’s Department Store. Mrs. Lawrence was the current longest living member of East End Baptist Church and a former member of the choir.She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Tommie Lawrence, Sr.; one son, Tommie Lawrence, Jr. (Delores) of Lanham, MD; four sisters, Loretta Burgess of Mount Reiner, MD, Octavia Ruffin of Suffolk, Marion Wilson (David) of Great Falls, VA and Ora Artis of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Blanch Bess, Bertha Crocker of Suffolk, Irene Lawrence of Portsmouth, VA and Dolores Anderson of Cleveland, OH; other relatives and friends.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at East End Baptist Church.
