Otelia SimmsOtelia Simms, 91 was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born on August 23, 1923 in Southampton County, VA and the daughter of the late Ernest Evans and Mattie Evans. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert R. Simms, Sr.; sons, Ernest Simms, James T. Simms and Wilbert P. Simms, Jr.Otelia attended Southampton County Schools. She was a homemaker for many years.She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Willie R. Simms of Portsmouth, VA and Ivan L. Simms, Sr. of Suffolk, VA; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; five nephews, Robert Hines, Douglas Hines, Dennis Hines, Otis Boone and Charlie Evans; devoted cousin, Dorothy Hawkins; several other cousins; devoted caretaker, Tiffany N.
