Waddell HillWaddell “Red” Hill, 69 of 811 Sutton Drive, Hixson, TN died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, VA. He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late Albert Hill, Sr. and Joyce Artis Hill.He was a welder. Waddell enjoyed painting, fishing and working on cars. He attended Laurel Hill United Church of Christ and Holland Mission UCC.He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Julpenia Knight Gardener Hill of Hixson, TN; one son, Waddell Hill Jr. of Chattem, VA; stepdaughter, Katrina G. Pillow (Robert III) of Fairfax, VA; stepsons, Ronneld D. Gardner Jr. (Sontega) of Kennesaw, GA, Alex C. Gardener, of Stone Mountain, GA and Jonathan A. Gardener (Jayme) of Molalla, OR; three sisters, Carlyse Hill Boone of Holland, VA, Margaret Ann Hill of Suffolk, and Alice Gaines of Lynchburg, VA; two brothers, Melvin Hill and Arthur Hill both of Roanoke, VA; two grandchildren and five step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Laurel Hill United Church of Christ with Rev. J. J. Ferguson, eulogist and Pastor Carl Sweat, officiating.
