Bennie BooneBen Glover Boone of 181 North Main Street, Suffolk died Monday, June 22, 2015 at Sentara Obici Hospital. On Monday morning, June 22, 2015, Bennie Glover Boone was called home to be with the Lord.He was born on September 14, 1927 to the late Carrie Boothe and the late Freenie Boone. He was educated in Gates County Schools. He attended Ballards Grove Baptist Church in Gates, NC at an early age. He served in the United States Army from August 21, 1952 to August 19, 1954. Bennie retired from Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son.Glover was known to his cousins as the kissing cousin. He took pride in his appearance. He was always neat and well dressed and sported his matching Kango hat.Glover loved to fish and spend time outdoors. He made many acquaintances while sitting in his favorite spot on the bench in front of his apartment complex.He enjoyed spending time with his late cousin, Annie Jane, her children and grandchildren. They were very fond of Glover.He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted and loving friend, Narissa Wilson; a daughter-in-law, Judy M. Wiggins; two grandchildren, Stanley M. Wiggins, Jr. and Tammie J. Wiggins; three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; brother, Robert Earl Boone; one aunt, Mary Jones; one niece, Dorothy Gatling all of Virginia; four devoted cousins, Odessa Harris, Sherlie Boone, Erna White and Morris Harris; one very devoted friend, Sam Privott; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home. Interment will be 2:00 p.m Tuesday, June 30 in Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery.Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
