Eduardo GrandisonEduardo Grandison, 94 of Cedar Wood Lane, Suffolk died Saturday, July 19, 2015 at Autumn Care of Suffolk.On Sunday, July 19, 2015 our Lord reached down with his loving hands and gently raised the soul of Eduardo Jose Grandison to His glorious light in Heaven.Eduardo was born in Panama on June 15, 1921 to Joseph and Victoria Ami Machando Grandison. During the Second World War, in 1941 Eduardo joined the Merchant Marines and served for 26 years. He was honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard on December 31, 1967. Upon his discharge, he resided in Long Island, NY for 26 years after which he relocated to Suffolk, VA where he was employed by the Department of Corrections for 11 years and entered into complete retirement in 1982.During his retirement, Eduardo joined First Baptist Church, 112 Mahan Street where he served on the Board of Trustees. In 2003, Eduardo moved his membership to Healing Chapel Baptist Church where he met his present wife, Rosa M. Faulk Grandison.His survivors include his wife, Rosa Grandison; two daughters-in-law, Clarissa Carey of Atlanta, GA and Loretta Carey of Laurel, MD; one grandson, Thurman F. Carey ( Geri) of New Jersey; two great grandsons, one great granddaughter; two nieces, Sonia Saunders and Nicole Nicholson; three stepdaughters, Stella Elam (David Lee) of Portsmouth, VA, Mary D. Gray (Luther) and Teresa Mann (Ben) of Suffolk, VA and a host of extended family and friends.A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Healing Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. Morris Almond will deliver the eulogy.He will be laid to rest in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home, Inc.
